20 Jan 2006 - Plane Crash Dream

I had this dream in January.

I was living in the house I grew up in. Nearby was a disused railway cutting and from a window I saw a Spitfire flying along the cutting. As it went out of sight I heard it coming in to land, so went to see where it was.

In a field nearby were a lot of WWII vehicles and some kind of camp. The Spitfire had landed but there was also a Lancaster bomber about to take off. In the cockpit window was a female in airfoce uniform.

The Lancaster left the ground but immediately began a very steep climb, and it was obvious to me that it wasn’t going to make it. Instead it did a kind of loop-the-loop and landed upside down, back in the field.

The plane didn’t seem badly damaged and no one from the camp seemed overly worried about the crash, and someone said it was just a staged crash for the people from the camp to practice a rescue.
